Not one saddle stool in my home has been chewed by a puppy or dog. Of course I give my dog treats that are more tasty than wood, but it is nice to have a good track record with the furniture.

It appears that new Amish furniture holds its price well for a century if it is kept in good condition. I was checking out a few antique shops and discovered some old pieces of Amish furniture. They were selling a small step stool that had been painted white for about $65.00. A small child's rocking chair was going for about the same as a new child's rocker.

Recently I added a pair of saddle stools to my home. They are a super addition! They sit at a small table that takes less room than a normal table. The stools slide underneath the table, again saving space. Guests love them! I was torn between placing them in the breakfast nook or the sun room, but ended up choosing the breakfast nook beside a large window. I found a super deal on a high table with a hickory finish. After the first few meals at this setting and a few hands of cards, I am convinced that the stools are a real fit for a casual contemporary lifestyle. Alice
